April 19, 10:00 a.m.
The 2014 Hummel Park Easter Egg Hunt Presented by Carpenter Realty® will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Hummel Park, 1500 South Center Street, Plainfield. Age categories will be 2 and under, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, and 9-10. One parent or guardian is allowed inside the fencing with the "2 and under" and "3-4" age groups. Parents are asked to remain outside the fencing for the other age groups.
Children will be asked to line up around the ball diamond fencing in order for the egg hunt to be started. There will only be one gate opened at each diamond in order to provide a safe environment for the children and so they do not become separated from their parent(s).
Start times will be staggered for each age group, with the youngest children going first, allowing parents with more than one child time to get to each age event. Parents are asked to not assist their children in any manner that would create an unfair advantage, as there are a limited number of eggs per age group.
There will be one "special prize egg" per age group for which a prize basket will be awarded.
The Easter Bunny will arrive by fire truck at approximately 9:45 a.m. Guests should arrive no later than 9:45 a.m. There will be parking on both the east and west sides of Hummel Park. Those parking on the west side will need to walk across the bridge to reach the baseball/softball facilities where the event will be held.
Those coming into the event on the east side will be required to enter at the park's north entrance on Center Street, and exit at the south exit in front of the Guilford Township Community Center. These access points will be marked as ENTER ONLY and EXIT ONLY, in order to help with traffic flow.
The event will be held regardless of weather, unless dangerous conditions exist. In the event of dangerous weather, the event will be postponed and the date and time will be announced through the Hummel Park web site.
